WHAT TO DO IN BRECKENRIDGE
If I could pick a place known as ‘heaven on earth’… it would be BRECKENRIDGE COLORADO! Especially in the fall. The colors are changing, the air is crisp, and it actually is considered “off” season, as ski season hasn’t started yet, and people’s summer vacations are winding down.
Lately a lot of my trips have been quick weekends, and I feel like Breckenridge is one of those places that you could easily do in one weekend.. or spend weeks there. You can definitely make it what you want! Let’s dive into a weekend in Breckenridge and all of my favorite places to eat/visit.
ACCOMODATIONS
We stayed at the most perfect Airbnb rental and I could not have loved our experience more! Our group had four, but this space could easily fit 8 (maybe 1 or 2 more). It was a four bedroom, two bath rental and had plenty of living space – both indoor and outdoor.
One of my favorite things about this rental was the morning light that came through in the kitchen in the mornings. Truly – this place was decorated so perfectly and was only a 15 minute walk to town (about 5 minute drive to town and about 10-15 minute drive anywhere else). From the Denver Airport, it will take you less than 2 hours to get here.
The outdoor space included a hot tub that truly made me feel like I was relaxing in the mountains. It also had a firepit, which was the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the crisp fall nights (or mornings with a cup of coffee!).
RESTAURANTS
Carboy Winery: Right on the main street in Downtown Breckenridge, Carboy had AMAZING food and drink options. Since I was expecting, I wasn’t able to try their wine options (that they actually can brew in house!). However, the other girls LOVED their flights (and I loved the fruity mocktail they made me!). I ordered their burger and truffle fries, which were SO yummy. We also had a charcuterie board for the table (which was devoured quickly!). Highly recommend.
Mimo Fancy Tapas: Mimo is an authentic Spanish restaurant that has incredible food and drink options. Their food options are considered “small plates” aka tapas. I mistakenly thought I might still be hungry after our meal, but I was STUFFED! After four courses, you definitely won’t feel hungry anymore. They had a paella that was my favorite. Highly recommend making reservations as the space is smaller!
TO DO
I highly recommend taking a walk down downtown Breckenridge’s Main Street. It has such a quaint feel to it and is FILLED with local and chain stores. From apparel, to jewelry, home, and more.. you will absolutely find something you love. If you’re there during ski season, there are LOTS of options for slopes that are very accessible.
Hope you love Breckenridge as much as I do! If you’re looking for other weekend travel guides, check out my other guides for Dallas, Boston, and NYC too.
